Charitable Giving
Let’s face it: Liquor retailers have a pretty crappy reputation,
in many cases because they’ve earned it.
We strive to be a retailer that you can be proud to patronize. Hair O’ The Dog is an active supporter of charitable causes in our
community. We donate $1 to local charities for every bottle of our Hair O’ The
Dog house wines that we sell. We also donate 100% of our commissions on the
sale of local art to local charities.
We give back because it’s the right thing to do. But if can salvage
the unsavory image of our entire industry - one happy customer at a time -
then that’s cool, too.
Some of the organizations that have benefitted from our Giving Back program:

Responsible Drinking
Hey, we think that enjoying a beverage is a very cool thing to do. But those
who drink irresponsibly are about as uncool as it gets. We encourage responsible
drinking any way that we can:
- We do not sell alcoholic beverages to intoxicated people, period.
- We maintain one of the most aggressive programs available to ensure that
we only sell to people who are legally entitled to drink.
- We generally do not carry mini, half-pint or pint bottles of spirits, which are
primarily used as “roadies”. Sure, the profit margin on these small
bottles is higher than on anything else in our business, but the risk just isn’t
worth it to us.
